Stillness
Words and Music by Anna Rundall
Inspired by Gordana Seifert

I woke this morning
to a stillness in the air
The air was cold
no birds would sing
As if Creation knew
before a word was spoken
Your footsteps turned
to Angel Wings

And how I want to cry
but I can't catch my breath
It's stuck within the ice cold feeling
that is Death
You left without me there
You left alone

It just amazes me
that life keeps moving on
The coffee brews
the baby cries
There should be something
to remind the daily grind
The moment
someone's loved one dies

And how I wish
that I could see you one more time
A hug is worth a million words
But you left while I was here
You left alone

Regret is always walking
just one step behind
The things we did
or did not do
I wonder if I might feel stronger now
If I had said goodbye
to you...

Just say goodbye, my love......

I woke this morning
to a stillness in the air
It said that you
hear Angels
sing
